Gosford Park, a portrait of the stratified British aristocratic society in which the divide between servants and lord-ladyships was very apparent. Crossing over was met with silence on one side, and with ridicule on the other. Robert Altman's mastery in juggling the complex set of characters in the murder-mystery set is remarkable. The objective is not the obvious discovery of who the murderer was... the intricate social interactions are far more appealing! And of course, there are the indispensible witty moments.
