Numa sala perto de mim #72


Rever a Idade da Inocência de Martin Scorsese é readmirar a excelente interpretação de Daniel Day-Lewis e Michelle Pfeiffer, a história, a época, os cenários, os vestidos, as cores, a música e a cinematografia de um filme que, apesar de ser de 1993, poderia ter sido feito hoje: é difícil imaginar como poderia ser melhor... é perfeito. Depois há ainda as passagens que ficam na memória:

It was widely known in New York, but never acknowledged, that Americans want to get away from amusement even more quickly than they want to get to it.

Newland You gave me my first glimpse of a real life and then you told me to carry on with the false one. No one can endure that.
