Parece que estou a ouvir #177

Duas letras do fado corrido gravadas por Amália Rodrigues, ambas polvilhadas de despeito, desacatos e lições de moral. Eu desconhecia a primeira.
_____________

Fado corrido

A barra da minha saia
Foi você que ma queimou
Com a ponta do cigarro
Quando comigo dançou!

Mal de amor raro se perde
É como a nódoa d'amora
Só com outra amora verde
A nódoa se vai embora

Ó minha moça trigueira
Quem te fez tão trigueirinha
Foi o calor da braseira
Que me aquecia à noitinha

Chamaste-me preta, preta
Que eu sou preta bem o sei
Também a azeitona é preta
E vai à mesa do rei

_____________

Fado Corrido

Lá porque tens cinco pedras
Num anel de estimação
Agora falas comigo
Com cinco pedras na mão!

Enquanto nesses brilhantes
Tens soberba e tens vaidade,
Eu tenho as pedras da rua
P'ra passear à vontade!

Mas não passas sorridente
A alardear satisfeito
Pois hei de chamar-te à pedra
Pelo mal que me tens feito!

E hás de ficar convencido
Da afirmação consagrada:
"Quem tem telhados de vidro
Não deve andar à pedrada"

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.

Don't you worry there, my honey
We might not have any money
But we've got our love to pay the bills.
Maybe I think you're cute and funny
Maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you,

if you know what I mean

Oh, let's get rich and buy our parents homes

in the south of France,
Let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance,
Let's get rich and build a house on a mountain
making everybody look like ants,
From way up there, you and I, you and I

Well, you might be a bit confused
And you might be a little bit bruised
But baby how we spoon like no one else.
So I will help you read those books
If you will soothe my worried looks
And we will put the lonesome on the shelf

Oh, let's get rich and buy our parents homes
in the south of France,
Let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance,
Let's get rich and build a house on a mountain
making everybody look like ants,
From way up there, you and I, you and I

Oh let's get rich and buy our parents homes
in the south of France,
Let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters
and teach them how to dance,
Let's get rich and build a house on a mountain
making everybody look like ants,
From way up there, you and I, you and I

Primavera #39

In comparison to Tennessee, New York's spring has just started with the magnolias just coming out. Over here, magnolias are gone and trees (all except dogwoods) are already covered in small and undeveloped leaves that give them a provisional light green tone. In a dense city like New York, the season is less visible on the streets where only the sparse trees give a notion of the passing time. To compensate, there are multiple flower beds in the small soil squares around trees or in tall stone vases on the sidewalks.

Finding Vivian Maier (2014) uncovers the art of the street photographer who earned her life as a nanny. The movie also provides an insight on the remarkable investigation to find the person behind the camera... made me think about compulsive behavior, social unfitness, old age, and the legacy one leaves behind.
