Today's Times brings an interesting article about young people recently moved to New York City, and talks about the defining moments between people and space. Having lived in the city for two years at some point in my life, I could still identify with the feelings of (1) speed and (2) awe that come by once in a while. Here are my moments:
1. when I realized I had started coordinating my pace (usually fast) with the rhythm of WALKs and DONT WALKs of the traffic lights... standing still in a DONT WALK bothered me tremendously;
2. looking at the twin towers (yes it was that long ago!) at dusk... still can't find the words to describe it.
