Arguably the most famous Christmas song of all time, Have Yourself a Merry Litte Christmas comes from a 1944 movie. There is a certain sad tone to the song, even more so if one pays attention to the lyrics, which have been changed to reflect a more upbeat mood of the holiday season. The original version by Judy Garland version is not even the most well known, after Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and so many others have recorded it over the years.
__________Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Hugh Martin & Ralph Blane
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be
Out of sight
Have yourself a merry little christmas
Make the yule-tide gay
Next year all our troubles will be
Miles away
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Someday soon, we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little christmas now.
