Two of the three oscar nominated short documentaries that I saw are worth mentioning:
The Lady at number 6: music saved my life (2013): 39 minutes of a life lesson in wisdom, optimism and attitude. In my mind remain two very strong thoughts:
Alice Herz-Sommer: Your life depends on you. Not on life; on you!
Zudenka: Survival was a matter of attitude towards the situation. And the situation could change every five minutes.
Alice passed away two weeks ago on February 23, 2014.

Facing Fear (2013): the 29 minutes recount the story of an incredible decades old hate crime, whose characters (victim and aggressor) coincidentally met again in different walks of life. The movie shows how they coped with the difficult process of healing and forgiving and how an unlikely strong friendship was forged. In one word, tolerance.
