The Holdovers (2024) tells the stories of the unlikely trio left to spend Christmas on their own in a New England boarding school in the 1970s. A mother in mourning, a lonely teacher with poor social skills, and a troubled teenager make it work and learn from each other how to cope with the challenges at their different life stages. A beautiful movie.
