Did Portugal win?

This afternoon, I (in my Portugal t-shirt) got out of the supermarket and stopped to juggle the shopping bags in my hands, when a lady addresses me in an inquiring face:

Lady: "Excuse me, do you know if Portugal won?"
me: "Yes they did, I watched the game!"
Her face lights up in a smile as she claps her hands in joy.
Lady: "Wonderful!"
me: "They went to penalty kicks, it was suffering till the end!"
Lady: "Well, now it doesn't matter... congrats!"
me: "Thanks!"
