Coisas que não mudam #397

England is the land of lovely... soon after arrival one starts hearing the word repeatedly.

After the check in at the hotel: "Oh what a lovely day today, just go out and enjoy it... don't worry about your luggage, we'll put it in your room once it's ready."

After taking note of your lunch order at the restaurant the waiter goes: "Lovely, coming right up!"

Paying the bill when you show the waiter a credit card instead of cash: "Lovely! Just one moment and I'll bring the machine (...) is contactless alright? Lovely!"

The volunteer at the medieval church, which no longer works as a parish and would otherwise be closed and abandoned, explains things in detail as he sees you're into old buildings... taking an interest he asks where you come from and to your reply he just goes: "Lovely!"

The fellow that accidentally joins your informal tour group of the old church, which is most of the days closed: "Oh what a lovely treat... I walk by almost every day and never saw this door open!"

The leaflet that you're hand in by a volunteer at a bigger church, explaining briefly the details of the building reads: "Welcome to St Mary Redcliffe. There has been a Christian church on this site since AD 1115. We invite you to walk around this lovely building, enjoy its peace and space, pray if you wish and use this guide to point out some of the building's features."

It comes as no surprise that there's even more lovely in England presently. Established in 2008, Lovely is an artisanal Bristol-based producer of premium pressés and sodas... lovely!
