Deadline (2012) tells the story of an investigation of a 19 year old cold case murder that has been left unsolved, unpunished and uninvestigated as there was no interest in solving, punishing or investigating stuff that happened on the other side of the tracks. The racial, urban/rural and income contexts of the South become ever more clear when the reporter coming from Nashville, to a small town in Alabama, is seen as a big city boy. Based on true events, the low budget production makes it cozier and more personal.
