Tuesdays and Thursdays is crêpe day at the Café library. A nice French lady with a thick accent makes the crêpes right in front of you and for brief moments you don't feel you're in the (English) Midlands anymore. I ordered a mixed fruit sweet crêpe, with banana, nutella, cream and red fruits. After confirming my order, she spread the crêpe batter on the hot round surface, letting the little bubbles pop up before she added the nutella on top. She then folded the crêpe, put it in a paper plate and added the fruit swiftly cutting the banana and the strawberries on top, and putting the cream on the side. As she is about to hand me the plate she asks one last question in her unmistakable accent "More nutellaaah?" to which I reply "Yes... I wonder if anyone says no to that question!" As she spreads the nutella on top she hands me the plate and goes "Hahahaha... have a good day!"
Terças e quintas é dia de crêpes no Café da biblioteca. Uma simpática senhora francesa com forte sotaque faz os crêpes mesmo à nossa frente e por breves momentos uma pessoa não se sente nas Midlands Inglesas. Eu pedi o crêpe doce de fruta mista, que leva banana, nutella, chantilly e frutos vermelhos. Depois de confirmar o meu pedido, a senhora espalhou a massa do crêpe na superfície redonda e quente, deixando as pequenas bolhas saltarem antes de juntar a nutella por cima. Depois dobrou o crêpe de forma triangular, pôs num prato de papel e juntou por cima a fruta, cortando rapidamente a banana e os morangos, e pondo de lado o chantilly. Quando está prestes a entregar-me o prato faz uma última pergunta no seu sotaque inconfundível "Mais nutellááá?" ao que respondo "Sim... será que alguém responde não a essa pergunta?!" Pondo a nutela por cima, ela devolve-me o prato dizendo "Hahahaha... tenha um bom resto de dia!"
