É o palco do tempo
Sem tempo a mais
São voltas às voltas
Por querer sempre mais

É um verso atrás
Um degrau que não viu
São curvas as rectas
Num final não vazio

É o palco do tempo

Very small artists making their work known in public online platforms. You can't find much online, not even lyrics for this charming song that I only partially understand. That's 21st century music for you.

Livraria mágica (Violen Fran Flen)*

by Miriam Aida

Segunda ao meio dia na hora de almoço

Procuro iludir meu pobre ser

Talvez olhando um livro

A minha fome some

Fugindo às calorias infernais

Numa livraria no centro da cidade

Atento a uma garota divinal

Olhos de gazela rosto angelical

Faz-me comprar livro sem querer

Olhos de gazela rosto angelical

Exercem sobre mim poder fatal

A bela poesia de Reynaldo Alvarez

Fez-me retornar a sensatez

Compro um dos seus livros

Pergunto a que horas sai

Sorri e me diz com doce timidez

Tenho muitos livros

Discos e revistas

Mesmo originais autografados

Compre um Jorge Amado

Ou mesmo um Machado

Livros como flores são amores
____________

*Curiosamente um original Sueco dos anos 40, aqui numa versão de 1973.

Satellite
by Dave Mathews Band

Satellite in my eyes
Like a diamond in the sky
How I wonder
Satellite strung from t he moon
And the world your balloon
Peeping Tom for the mother station

Winter's cold spring races
And the calm away by the storm is chasing
Everything good needs replacing
Look up, look down, all around, hey satellite

Satellite headlines read
Someone's secrets you've seen
Eyes and ears have been
Satellite dish in my yard
Tell me more, tell me more
Who's the king of your Satellite Castle?

Winter's cold spring races
And the calm away by the storm is chasing
Everything good needs replacing
Look up, look down, all around, hey satellite
Rest high above the clouds no restriction
Television we bounce round the world
And while I spend these hours
Five senses reeling
I laugh about the weatherman's satellite eyes

Satellite in my eyes
Like a diamond in the sky
How I wonder
Satellite strung from the moon
And the world your balloon
Peeping Tom for the mother station

Winter's cold spring races
And the calm away by the storm is chasing
Everything good needs replacing
Look up, look down, all around, hey satellite

Rest high above the clouds no restriction
Television we bounce round the world
And while I spend these hours
Five senses reeling
I laugh about the weatherman's satellite eyes

Solar Power
by Lorde

I hate the winter, can't stand the cold
I tend to cancel all the plans (so sorry, I can't make it)
But when the heat comes, something takes a hold
Can I kick it? Yeah, I can

My cheeks in high color, overripe peaches
No shirt, no shoes, only my features
My boy behind me, he's taking pictures
Lead the boys and girls onto the beaches
Come one, come all, I'll tell you my secrets
I'm kinda like a prettier Jesus

Forget all of the tears that you've cried
It's over (over, over, over)
It's a new state of mind
Are you coming, my baby?

Acid green, aquamarine
The girls are dancing in the sand
And I throw my cellular device in the water
Can you reach me? No, you can't (aha)

My cheeks in high color, overripe peaches
No shirt, no shoes, only my features
My boy behind me, he's taking pictures (he's taking pictures)
Lead the boys and girls onto the beaches
Come one, come all, I'll tell you my secrets
I'm kinda like a prettier Jesus

Turn it on in a new kind of bright
It's solar (solar, solar, solar)
Come on and let the bliss begin
Blink three times when you feel it kicking in

That solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power
Solar-olar-olar power (oh)
Solar-olar-olar power

Golden Days
by Cristóvam

Darlin', we could run together
Climb to the mountains and hide away
And it don't have to be forever
Just long enough to reset our pace

How did we end up so silent?
Words just don't come like they used to before
Maybe time is like an island
You and you run but you can't run away at all

Remember
When love was everything
Under violet skies
We were walking on a string

Darlin', we could start it over
Don't let your fears get to you now
We could sail across the ocean
Hop on a plane and drive to the south
Motion and motion until we feel alive
Flowers in your hair
The sun in your eyes
Out in the open where everything blooms
This love will grow and harvest the moon

Remember
When love was everything
Under violet skies
We were walking on a string
I surrender
Oh, I've thrown my pride away
Under violet skies
We'll go back to golden days

The Surgeon
by Alicia Suskin Ostriker

I was still a kid
interning at State
he reminisces late in the meal—
It was a young red-headed woman
looked like my sister
when the lines went flat
I fell apart
shook
like a car with a broken axle
Went to the head surgeon
a fatherly man
Boy, he said, you got to fill a graveyard
before you know this business
and you just did row one, plot one.

Some luck lies in not getting what you thought you wanted but getting what you have, which once you have got it you may be smart enough to see is what you would have wanted had you known.

After
by Robert Cording

Well, we’re older now. Nothing new
there. We died and yet didn’t know
from that very first I do how we’d follow
the years toward who will bury who?

So tell me again, when our lives are done,
that we’ll be together. It’s okay
if you lie to me. That’s a price I’ll pay
for our marriage to continue after we’re gone.

Say it, please. Say how it will always be
when we meet again. After everything
we made together is torn apart, nothing
left of us but this paper wish. Tell me.

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

Original from The Beatles
Here an arrangement by R. Boyd and L. Metcalf for gutar and cello

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

From old plants make new plants:
after some 5-6 weeks in water they gain roots,
so you plant them in new pots;
hopefully they will survive
and will be ready to go to their new homes in a few weeks.
Some presents take time :-)

Lines Written in Early Spring
by William Wordsworth

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that sweet bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played:
Their thoughts I cannot measure,
But the least motion which they made,
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature's holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?
