Inverno #2

Expected storm tomorrow
Let me not to the marriage of true mindsAdmit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Queen Elizabeth I: Go back to your rathole! Tell Philip I fear neither him, nor his priests, nor his armies. Tell him if he wants to shake his little fist at us, we're ready to give him such a bite he'll wish he'd kept his hands in his pockets!
Spanish Minister: You see a leaf fall, and you think you see which way the wind blows. Well, there is a wind coming, Madame, that will sweep away your pride.
[turns to leave with his ministers]
Queen Elizabeth I: I, too, can command the wind, sir! I have a hurricane in me that will strip Spain bare when you dare to try me!

Palavras lidas # 36

Airport security control line. After I take off my shoes, I place all my belongings in the x-ray machine and go under the arch. Here's my dialogue with the security officer:
him: is this your backpack ma'am?
I put on my shoes, place the computer back in the backpack, hold on to my ticket and passport as he hands me the bottle.
me: I'll do it right away, can I just sit down and tie my shoes?
As I tie my shoes I unseal the bottle, open it and start drinking under the attentive eyes of the security officer who stopped checking all other passengers just to make sure I drink the whole bottle. I do it in timely fashion and throw the bottle in the trash can right by the bench.
me: I'm all done, thanks.
As I walk towards the gate where I'll be waiting for the next couple of hours I see souvenir stores with newspaper and drink stands -- vanilla fraps are sold there too ;-)
