I am very fond of old maps. This one depicts Coventry in 1610
and is hanging on a wall at St. John the Baptist Church.
In number 26 you can see St. John the Baptist's church labeled Bablake church, founded by Isabella of France (Wife of King Edward II) in 1344 who granted the guild of St. John a piece of land in Babellack for the construction of the chapel.
The church is close to Spon gate (long gone)
and also Spon and Fleet Streets still visible in present maps.
Fascinating to see the different uses of space as time went by.
