42 tells the story of Jackie Robinson's entrance into Major League Baseball in 1947. Segregated sports were just a mirror the highly segregated American society of the 1940s. It takes courage to stand tall and quiet in the face of insult and injury. Robinson was the bigger man and a few around him were up to the challenge.
